The “Unprofessional” Website
Tuesday, March 7, 2017
Let’s have an honest chat about your web designer. Maybe it was a friend, a cousin, or a co-workers son. If you’re really tech savvy, you may have even put it together yourself.
It’s not doing you any favors.
Before you leave angrily, we aren’t doubting your abilities or insulting your relatives. We can certainly see the appeal to a “nice, cheap website.” But if your website makes a statement about your business, do you really want that statement to be “nice and cheap?”
When potential customers visit your website, you want them to be impressed. Maybe not “bells and whistles” impressed, but at the very least “these guys know what they’re doing” impressed. A poorly designed website doesn’t communicate that. Instead it might say, “I haven’t changed since 1991” or “Don’t you hope my company works better than this website?”
You’re might be thinking, “Our website is fine!” That may be true, but are you really the expert? Building a website is about more than just slapping some words and pictures on a page. The best website design takes into account ease of navigation, flow, target audience, business goals, and content (just to name a few things). It will make Marketing professionals smile and potential customers curious for more.
Maybe your website is just there is have a web presence. It doesn’t need to be fancy or functional because it’s really just there so you can say you have a website. If that’s the case, let us say simply: don’t. In our age of technology, people go to Google before they ask a neighbor for a recommendation, so it’s hard to imagine a company that doesn’t need a well-developed web presence. But if you really feel it’s not necessary, then it’s better to have no website at all than to have one that might deter a customer.
AI Software builds websites that excite viewers the world over. We take the time to learn about you and your business and then build a site that draws in your ideal customer by representing you well. We’ll even help you drive traffic to your new site and market your company through social media. Let us take your marketing to the next level.
